Compulsory Basic Training (CBT)

Direct Access Scheme(DAS)

David Ross2024-06-09Recently completed my CBT with Saferiders. I enjoyed the whole day of training and learned a lot. Course ran from around 9am to 5pm, with a mixture of classroom training, motorcycle maintenance, on-site riding training and then a thorough on-road training session around Bathgate and Livingston area with instructions sent from Andy via Bluetooth earpiece as he rides closely behind instructing the route. For the on-road training, Bathgate and Livingston is a good place to train due to the road network, navigating roundabouts, residential roads, dual carriageways, quiet roads and so on, everything you will experience in real life but in a controlled manner with the instructor clearly visible behind you. Training never felt rushed, practice manoeuvres could be repeated until you gained confidence. Really enjoyed the whole day and looking forward to being out on the road on a 125cc.
